Born in Wembley, England in 1950 and initially trained by artist Douglas Cox, Brian moved to the United States in 1968. He entered Pratt Institute, New York in 1969 to study painting, drawing and photography and in 1974 gained a Bachelors degree (BFA). Since then he has sold his work mostly to private and corporate collectors and fulfilled both private and commercial commissions.

Parallel to the arts, Brian’s passion for music took him on global tours from 1974 to 1995, which helped fuel his diverse cultural and visual interests.

While pursuing his musical career, Brian has continued to paint and exhibit internationally with work held in collections throughout Europe, North and South America.

In 2004, Brian returned to full time painting, gaining a Masters degree (MFA) in painting in 2005 from Wimbledon School of Art.

Brian’s translation of the visual world onto a two dimensional picture plane is supported by his use of colour and perspective, pattern and repetition.  From still life and portraiture to vehicles and interiors, cityscapes to landscapes, the illusion of colour space invites the viewer to enter a unique virtual painted reality.
